Adult & Dislocated Worker Programs

ADULT & DISLOCATED WORKER PROGRAMS

Adult Applicants must meet 200% of the Poverty Level Guidelines.

Dislocated Worker Applicants must be unemployed or are incumbent workers due to a plant closure or long-term unemployed.  Must have a notice of permanent lay-off or plant closure prior to enrollment.

Services available are:

INTERNSHIP TRAINING

Monies are available to assist Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) eligible candidates that are in need of some specified experience in their particular occupational field or if the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) eligible candidate is limited to no current work experience.

ON-THE-JOB TRAINING (OJT)

Monies are available to assist Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) eligible candidates interested in furthering their training on the job with an area employer. Employers are reimbursed for up to 50% of the Employee Training Wage during a previously agreed upon job and training period.

CUSTOMIZED TRAINING

Monies are available to train Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) eligible candidates to meet specifications of an individual employer. The Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) Programs can train participants to meet the employers’ individual employment needs, which saves the employers time and up to 50% of the training costs.

OCCUPATIONAL CLASSROOM TRAINING

Monies are available to assist Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) eligible candidates who are interested in furthering their education in order to increase their marketability in the labor market. Programs range from working towards GED attainment, to industry-specified occupational classroom training to two (2) year Degree Programs. Information regarding available grants within Ohio is also available through the Employment and Training Department. Training must be in a high demand occupation. All interested applicants must first apply for all grants prior to the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) assistance. All Educational Institutions must have completed and received approval via State Certification Process prior to being utilized.
